چکیده
Abstract A wideband differential‐fed (DF) metasurface (MTS) antenna array is proposed in this letter. As the element of array, a nonuniform MTS designed step by using characteristic mode analysis. In first step, 2 × rectangular patch‐based investigated. We observe that its two fundamental modes exhibit even/odd symmetric current distributions, which can be regarded as pair c/π modes. Unlike c mode, π features nonbroadside radiation, reshaped modifying to an asymmetric configuration second step. last direct DF method adopted excite and suppress other unwanted for performance. The optimal positions are quantitatively predicted calculating impendence bandwidth fed virtual probes. Moreover, further increase gain improve symmetry radiation patterns, elements integrated into linear array. Finally, fabricated measured. measured impedance 22.2% (6–7.5 GHz) with broadside stable gains varying from 8.5 11.3 dBi, front‐to‐back ratio better than 19 dB.

The beamwidth of a linear array depends on number of elements in the array and frequency of the input signal. The main requirement of wideband beamformer is, the main beam pattern should be constant even there is a change in input signal frequency. Various methods were proposed in literature, one method is called elemental lowpass filtering designed by using Finite Impulse Response (FIR) digita...
متن کاملOptimization of a Wideband Tapped-Delay Line Array Antenna
In this paper, an optimal approach to design wideband tapped-delay line (TDL) array antenna is proposed. This approach lets us control the array angular and frequency response over a wide frequency band. To this end, some design restrictions are defined and a multi-objective optimization problem is constructed by putting the individual restrictions together. The optimal weights of the TDL proce...

the methods which are used to analyze microstrip antennas, are divited into three categories: empirical methods, semi-empirical methods and full-wave analysis. empirical and semi-empirical methods are generally based on some fundamental simplifying assumptions about quality of surface current distribution and substrate thickness. thses simplificatioms cause low accuracy in field evaluation. ful...

This article presents a phased array antenna employing MEMS phase shifter. The proposed phased array antenna consists of eight square patch antennas operating at 10.4 GHz with a bandwidth of 400 MHz. Feed line for each patch passes through a MEMS phase shifter realized by a series of bridges above the transmission line. The distance between the bridge and the transmission line underneath it is ...
